Nació el: 17 de agosto de 1962 en Cleveland, Ohio (Estados Unidos).
Edad: 46 años.
Instrumentos: Guitarra.
Otras Bandas: Candy, Kill for Thrills y The Starfuckers. La primera banda en la que participó fue la banda pop Candy, que lanzó un disco llamado Whatever Happened to Fun. Esa banda se disolvió, y tiempos después formó parte de la banda metal Kill for Thrills. Su salto al estrellado se produjo al ingresar como guitarra rítmica en Guns N' Roses en noviembre de 1991, reemplazando a Izzy Stradlin, quien dejó la banda en medio de una gira mundial que duró 28 meses, entre 1991 y 1993. Gilby Clarke ha lanzado un total de cuatro discos solistas: The Hangover, Rubber, Swag y el anteriormente nombrado, además de un álbum en vivo titulado 99 Live. Gilby Clarke también contribuyó en el disco solista de Slash (Slash's Snakepit) titulado It's Five O'Clock Somewhere; se puede escuchar su guitarra rítmica en la canción Monkey Chow y además apareció en la gira de la banda. Además realizó una participación como invitado en el disco Shrinking Violet de L.A. Guns, que también produjo. Clarke colaboró con el guitarrista Tracii Guns en el disco The Roots of Guns N' Roses. Que fue lanzado en 2004, el álbum cuenta con grabaciones de las que serían las canciones de Guns N' Roses, como Reckless Life o Anything Goes, grabada por una de las bandas que dio origen a Guns N' Roses: Hollywood Rose, en la mitad de los '80s. Actualmente forma parte de la banda The Starfuckers y tocó con MC5 en su Tour Europeo 2005. En el año 2006, Clarke salió de gira por América y Europa junto con el bajista de Metallica Jason Newsted, el vocalista Lukas Rossi y el baterista Tommy Lee de Mötley Crüe con la nueva banda de rock Supernova después de un extenso casting.

- Aqui vá un disco que era un proyecto deMichael Hutchence,fuera de Inxs.
Este disco fué lanzado despues del disco "Kick" de Inxs, durante un descanso que el grupo se dió después del Tour de 1.987-1.988.
Michael Hutchence conoció aOllie Olsencuando trabajaban en la pelicula "Dogs In Space", sobre el Melbourne de la era Post-Punk.
Hutchence era el protagonista de la película, Olsen el encargado de ambientar la música de la época.
Vendió poco pero es una pieza esencial de la música de los fines de 80, toques musicales marcados de Inxs si, pero también con su aporte de letras con contenidos mas serios.
"Los que gobiernan te apuntan un arma en la cabeza, con religiones, corporaciones, orgullosas de la sangre que han derramado... Sea Dios o La Bomba, es todo igual, es tan solo miedo bajo otro sobrenombre" de la letra de la canción "Way of The World".
